Senior Business Analyst Lead
As an Ideaca Senior Business Analyst / Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Facilitating and ensuring quality implementation of business objectives in custom and packaged business applications
- Leveraging your solid understanding of the project business analysis life cycle and related principles, methodologies and best practices and to help improve project execution
Required qualifications include:
- Minimum 10 to 15 years experience as a business/systems analyst successfully leading full life-cycle business process and /or business application teams to the client's satisfaction.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management (including business and IT director level personnel) and customers/vendors
- A balance of business experience and people management skills with strong technology knowledge
- Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Be capable of identifying business requirement conflicts or issues and work with appropriate people to analyze and resolve them
- Detailed orientation and attention to delivering comprehensive solutions aligned with business objectives
- Change management experience
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree/diploma in Business, Computer Science or a related discipline
- Applied experience and willingness to work in a spectrum of business analysis / project implementation models – ranging from Iterative to Waterfall
- Applied experience with a spectrum of project management principles, practices and methodologies e.g. RUP, Agile, PMI PMBOK, etc.
As our ideal candidate you will:
- Be recognized in one or more industry verticals for your business acumen and expertise (e.g., Retail, Financial Services, Natural Resources, Municipal, Public Sector Authorities)
- Also have completed a MBA or equivalent degree, or have a professional accounting designation (e.g., CMA) or have an APICS certification (e.g., CSCP in supply chain)
- Have the ability to plan, delegate and manage tasks, issues, their priorities and interdependencies
- Established the credibility to cement creative partnerships with all levels of project stakeholders
- Have obtained the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation
- Have proven ability to also lead projects in a project manager role (an asset)
- Have proven successful BA experience with custom application development, business intelligence / data warehousing, and/or packaged applications (of note: Microsoft Dynamics AX or Microsoft Dynamics CRM)
- Is able to travel domestically and internationally as required

Technical Infrastructure Consultant
As an Ideaca Technical Infrastructure team member, you will be responsible for the implementation and management of technical infrastructure supporting our business application implementation projects. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, who can work under dynamic conditions and within deadlines. This role is predominantly focused on customer facing project initiatives, but may include internal operational support responsibilities on an as needed basis.
To be successful, you:
- Will have successfully completed a post-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline
- Will understand how to build and maintain positive client and peer relationships
- Can clearly communicate with peers and customers and have good interpersonal skills
- Will have 2 or more years of server implementation and deployment experience, including the majority of the following: Windows and Linux Clusters, Exchange Server, SQL Server, SharePoint server, IIS, JBoss/Apache, Oracle, BizTalk, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Solaris
- Will have excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Will learn new concepts and technologies quickly
- Will demonstrate capabilities in applying new technologies, and leveraging the key features to design flexible and capable systems
- Will establish confidence in your ability to manage tasks, issues, their priorities and interdependencies
- Will have experience in administering/tracking patches, back-ups, user IDs and system security, as well as other server administration
- Will have proficiency as both a Windows server and UNIX/Linux administrator
- Will have the ability to create enterprise quality installation and Run Book documentation
- Will have some experience and/or understanding of software development as this role includes the support of Ideaca development project teams
- Will have experience working with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls
- Will have experience with packages such as HP Open View, Remedy and Load Runner
Will have experience in some or all of the following:
- Design, installation and operational support of complex heterogeneous computer and network environments
- Capacity Planning and Performance testing and tuning of servers, databases and networks
- General development practices such as writing unit tests, using source control, writing documentation, following standards guidelines, etc....
- Ability to write Windows PowerShell and Unix Shell scripts for task automation
- Will be prepared for some domestic and international travel as required, in particular, work on-site and remotely for projects located in British Columbia and Alberta

Developer (.NET) Consultant
As an Ideaca consultant based in our Vancouver office you will work with an exciting and diverse group of IT professionals who are truly taking advantage of new approaches to building applications. You will be responsible for participating at all phases of the project life cycle including: analyzing, designing, modeling, testing and deploying suitable and appropriate solutions. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, who can work under dynamic conditions and within deadlines.
Required qualifications include:
- 3 to 5 years of programming experience using development languages that include: Microsoft based technologies such as ASP, VB and .NET; Java J2EE platform and; open source technologies such as PERL and PHP
- Minimum of one year of development / technical experience working with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS)
- Experience working on ASP.NET enterprise applications, working with ADO.NET against a SQL server or Oracle databases
- Experience with general development practices such as writing unit tests, using source control, writing basic API documentation, following standards guidelines, etc.
- Experience in applying these development methodologies and best-practices in a client environment
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree/diploma in Business, Computer Science or a related discipline
- Understand how to build and maintain positive client and peer relationships and enjoy team work
As our ideal candidate you will:
- Have solid experience analyzing, developing and implementing custom code for Microsoft Dynamics CRM using the SDK including J-Script (an asset)
- Have experience developing and implementing custom solutions using the Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) frameworks
- Have solid experience designing and implementing reporting using SSRS 2005 or SRS 2008 (an asset)
- Have a passion to work with Microsoft technologies to deliver business savvy solutions
- Demonstrate capabilities in evaluating new techniques and utilizing the key elements
- Establish confidence in your ability to manage tasks, issues, their priorities and interdependencies
- Work with Object Role Modeling (ORM) packages
- Have experience with writing Web Services, specifically knowledge of SOAP, WSDL, and WS-* specifications
- Have working knowledge of design patterns
- Have experience with advanced development techniques such as design re-factoring, “test first” programming, continuous integration, etc...
- Have experience in integrating enterprise business application systems (including but not limited to Microsoft Dynamics AX, SAP, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, Oracle) – ideally including .Net and BizTalk Server experience
- Will be prepared for some domestic and international travel as required
